ZTE Blade V10 and V10 Vita recently replenished the lineup of the famous vendor. Both models are aimed at the initial and middle market segment. For a small cost, they have photo processing using AI, advanced functions of a finger scanner and NFC. About other differences and unique qualities of new products – under the cut.
Equal from the face
Recognizing an inexpensive smartphone by its appearance is becoming more difficult today. A couple of fresh ZTEs are excellent proof of this. Two models flaunt relevant design decisions: here are thin frames around the screen, and a miniature drop-shaped cutout where the front lens is hidden. Above it is a grid of conversational dynamics, under which is also hidden the notification LED indicator.
The plastic case in both cases seems glass at a distance and shimmers in the light with mirrored surfaces. Glossy material quickly covers with prints, so it’s best to immediately take care of the cover. In Blade V10, by the way, it comes with the package.
With a thorough study of the apparatus, you can find several differences. At the back is the design of the camera unit. If you pay attention to the lower end, it becomes clear that the ZTE Blade V10 received a modern Type-C connector. The younger version is content with the tested micro-USB time. The power button also varies: in the Blade V10 Vita, it has a ribbed surface, and in the Blade V10 it is smooth.
The same story with screens. At first glance, the difference is not easy to notice. In both IPS-matrixes, and the sizes almost coincide – 6.26 inches for the Vita and 6.3 “for the ZTE Blade V10. At the same time, the older gadget has Full HD + resolution (2280×1080). In turn, the V10 Vita is equipped with a matrix HD +, whose density is about 269 dpi, The image quality of the two displays did not disappoint, but the difference between them is noticeable. The lower resolution of the V10 Vita in some cases is noteworthy, in addition, the white balance is slightly shifted towards warm colors. the good news is that each smartphone has manual color adjustment options cottages.
The system is nothing more. Nearly
Another common feature of the ZTE duo: a close-to-clean version of Android 9 Pie. The vendor did not install its own shell, leaving most of the interface and other components intact. The advantages of this solution are obvious: extra elements, such as a custom shell or additional programs, do not slow down the system and do not take up memory space.
But there were some improvements. ZTE has supplemented the menu sections with functions that expand the basic settings of the Google operating system. There are preinstalled applications, for example, Sberbank utility and several Yandex services. Almost all of them are easily removed or disabled in the options.
The firmware of two very similar phones have some differences. Whether it’s differently designed menu sections or functions that are in one model and not in the second. So, in the older version provides gesture control.

Nevertheless, the main differences lie in the gland. ZTE Blade V10 equipped with a MediaTek Helio P70 chip. It is noteworthy that in this single-chip system there is a dedicated block of AI-related calculations. Therefore, it is used to recognize scenes when taking pictures. 4 GB of RAM and a built-in 64 GB drive complete the picture.
In everyday use, the smartphone is excellent. Applications run without too much thought, and the interface is free from jagging. However, you do not expect anything else from a relatively powerful filling in combination with a clean Android OS. In games, V10 also performs well. In most modern hits, it allows you to hack with a comfortable frame rate. This applies to Asphalt 9, and World of Tanks. The latter does not turn into a slide show, giving out even at high graphics settings from 35 to 50 fps.
The device runs on a 3200 mAh battery. Although the battery capacity is modest by modern standards, the Blade V10 battery lasts for a full day or even a half, if you do not lean on gaming. When playing Full HD video in airplane mode at 50% brightness, the phone lasted about 13 hours.
To unlock access to the system, a standard set is provided: a fingerprint scanner on the back panel and face authorization. Both methods are convenient. The fingerprint sensor acts instantly and accurately: the finger is recognized in any position, up to 360 degrees. As a bonus, it is convenient to use it as a mini touchpad – to pull out the notification curtain (swipe from top to bottom) or the menu of running applications (from bottom to top). In addition, it is easy to assign to each finger the launch of certain applications or block access to files and programs. It takes a little less than a second to recognize a face.
Photo capabilities Blade V10 are at a decent level. The main unit has two cameras: a 16-megapixel main (f / 1.8) and an auxiliary 5 megapixel camera, which improves the quality of images with blurring the background. The interface is typical for Android smartphones. The main switches and icons are brought directly to the viewfinder screen, the transition between shooting modes is carried out by scrolling the carousel.
A good aperture allows the device to adequately show itself not only in good daylight, but also in the evening or in artificial light. Flagship quality should not be expected, however, given the cost of new items, this is not required of it.
Front-facing ZTE Blade V10 received a matrix with a resolution of 32 megapixels and a lens with aperture f / 2.0. In the work of the selfie module, AI algorithms are actively used. This, in addition to the usual beauty, allows you to make portraits with bokeh effect. Although there is no auxiliary sensor for determining the distance to objects, images with blurring the background are obtained at a very high level – practically without errors.
The smartphone records video in Full HD format. The positive aspects include a good detail. There are also shortcomings: when driving, there is a noticeable lack of stabilization, and the focus may walk a bit as you shoot.

ZTE Blade V10 Vita
ZTE Blade V10 Vita hardware is simpler. The heart of the system was the Unisoc SC9863A chip. It is part of a fresh line of the Chinese manufacturer and contains eight ARM Cortex-A55 processing cores operating at a clock frequency of up to 1.6 GHz. One of the main differences between the new architecture and the previous generation of Cortex is the appearance in the cores of built-in AI acceleration units and machine learning. The graphics processor is responsible for the PowerVR Rogue GE8322 video chip. The memory configuration depends on the modification – it can be a formula of 2 + 32 GB or 3 + 64 GB. The review involved a younger model.
Despite the modern architecture of the processor cores, in the Blade V10 Vita, animations in the interface and application launch sometimes take a little longer than they should. You should not expect advanced gaming capabilities from the budget chipset. But still, the device dealt with World of Tanks confidently. At medium settings with HD textures, the frame counter ranged from 40-50 fps. In synthetic tests, the processor scores an adequate number of points for its price category.
The battery capacity of the Blade V10 Vita is similar to the expensive version: 3200 mAh. The mobile phone coped with video playback a little better than the Blade V10, under similar conditions the charge lasted for 14 hours and 40 minutes. In everyday use, the “Vita” also lasts a little longer – due to the economical processor and lower screen resolution. To unlock the ZTE Blade V10 Vita, you can use either a face recognition system or a multi-function fingerprint scanner.
Photocell ZTE Blade V10 Vita is represented by a dual main module. It includes cameras with 13 megapixels (f / 2.0) and 2 megapixels, as well as a single front camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels with an f / 2.0 aperture.
The quality of the pictures is at the level of gadgets in this price category. In bright daylight, nice shots come out with good colors and a level of detail, but with diminished lighting, the result rapidly decreases.
The front camera copes with its tasks, and the range of its options is expanded thanks to the system of beauty. The latter is notable for a detailed setting: for example, you can not edit the whole face, but only adjust the size and shape of the eyes or work on the skin. Lovers of quality selfies should appreciate this variability.

Although outwardly two smartphones from the ZTE Blade V10 family are similar, their hardware is significantly different. Therefore, it is easy to choose a gadget to fit your needs without overpaying for unused functions. It’s nice that among the basic features of ZTE has included an NFC-module for contactless payments and quick pairing of devices. However, it is worth considering that the V10 Vita received it only in a modification with 3 + 64 GB of memory.
Senior Blade V10 is suitable for those who are willing to pay extra for a set of little things that together make it a more advanced device. This includes a modern USB Type-C connector, support for high-speed dual-band Wi-Fi, a more powerful chipset and a Full HD + display. In turn, the ZTE Blade V10 Vita is a good choice for users who find such “bonuses” unnecessary.
