Who’s what, and techno journalists – the coronavirus. Without detracting from the fact that this infection has taken many lives (however, no more than the usual annual flu), for the most part it brings fear and terror to the organizers of various events around the world.

Facebook conferences, Google, Microsoft, the Formula 1 phase, international exhibitions – all this is hurriedly canceled and closed with a glance at the possible spread of the infection. We have already written about the failed MWC and the events that took place instead of it many times. One of the manufacturers that withdrew from the Barcelona exhibition even before its official cancellation, was the company Oppo – along with other “subdivisions” of the BBK Corporation. The company decided to put its presentation online and set the date for the show at March 6. I suggest taking a moment to speculate a little about future novelties.

Oppo Find X2 / X2 Pro

The new flagship of the Chinese company seems to be not just an upgrade of the previous version of Find X, but a complete new device using a more traditional design. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the first-generation camera sliding module has gone down in history before it became the mainstream. This time we will see a more familiar camera module in the back (the Pro version promises to be thicker) and a neat cutout for the front camera in the top left corner of the screen.

Speaking of different versions. According to preliminary information, the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro will differ only in terms of main camera modules, amount of RAM and case finish, while processor, screen and battery will be the same.

Oppo vice president Brian Shen, who has provided us with a lot of information about the upcoming product, tweeted that he personally prefers the version without the set-top box Pro – for its smaller thickness and weight, as well as the choice of colors. For example, for the version with prefix Pro will be available back cover “under the skin” orange color.

Thanks to the same “reliable source”, we know that the screen of the flagship series will get 120 Hz refresh rate. Apparently, the AMOLED sensor with a resolution of 3K (3120 x 1440 pixels) will also receive a touch layer with a response rate of 240 Hz and will be produced by Samsung. Brian Shen shared that even with the increased scan rate, his screen time was about 8 hours, which is quite impressive.

Given the type of screen matrix, we can assume that the smartphone will have a built-in fingerprint sensor, as in Oppo Reno2 F, but most likely it will be limited to the face unlock, as in the first version of Find X.

In terms of photographic capability, both units are expected to have an array of three cameras: the main “wide-angle” and additional “ultra-wide-angle” and “TV”. According to the same source, the older version will offer “higher image quality”, but the estimated difference will only be in the optical zoom module used. Both units will receive Sony IMX689 for 48 MP with omnidirectional autofocus as the main sensor, and Sony IMX586 for 48 MP as the “ultra-wide” sensor. The differences are likely to be in the module with optical zoom – for the older version it will be presumably ISOCELL-matrix Samsung S5K3M5 with 5x “hybrid zoom”.

Oppo Watch

Oppo watches based on Wear OS will be presented together with your smartphone at the company’s online presentation. This uncomplicated name looks particularly funny given that the watch looks very much like the Apple device of the same name.

Of course, this is not a hundred percent copy of the Cupertino watch: for example, instead of the famous Digital Crown wheel, the Chinese company’s watch received a simple second button. But still, one cannot deny the similarity of the exterior of this two watches – the situation reminds us of the “clone iPhone” fashion for several years ago, from which the Chinese manufacturers more or less moved away. Oppo promotional pictures promise a “screen-waterfall”, which we have already seen on many smartphones.

It is expected that Oppo Watch, as well as watches of Cupertin’s company, will be able not only to measure the pulse, but also make an ECG of the user. Water resistance to 5 atmospheres will allow you to swim with the watch in the pool, again, as well as
