AMD will play in the upper segment with Navi 23

AMD has been focusing on the entry-middle segment in the graphics card market for a long time.

In recent years, AMD has been introduced with entry-center cards. The company managed to increase its market share in this way faster and under a lower budget.

Navi 23 , called Nvidia Killer , will have a bigger dice field than the existing Navi 10 chip. It is said that the firm will target RTX 2080-2080 Ti with its new card, although details are not yet clear.

However, it is too early to make a comment for the time being and it is not necessary to have great expectations. Because the current RX 5700 XT has a high power consumption characteristic despite its small dice. Therefore, temperature and power consumption problems can occur in a large chip. Nevertheless, some problems can be overcome with the RDNA2 architecture and the more mature 7 nm process.

On the other hand, the new cards are expected to come with beam tracking support and a variable focus engine, which will make AMD a competitive position against Nvidia. Finally, we will have to wait 2020 for the new card.
