China Railway Express , which is the first freight train starting from Asia and going to Europe by using the Marmaray tube crossing , made the transition from Marmaray Separation Fountain station in two parts and continued its journey to Europe. The train was divided into two parts due to its load and length and two different passes were made.
Chang’an , which started its journey from Xi’an, China, will end its journey starting from China in Prague , the capital of Czech Republic, by winning the title of the first freight train using Marmaray Tube Passage . The freight train was sent off from the Ankara Railway Station to Prague, the capital of Czechia, with a ceremony held on 6 November. The first part of the Chang’an train departed from Ankara at 16:30 yesterday and the second part went through the Marmaray Separation Fountain stop at 05.00. The train then passed to Üsküdar, Sirkeci, Yenikapı and Kazlıçeşme stops and reached Zeytinburnu.
Carrying the equivalent of 42 truckloads of electronic products, China Railway Express, with a total length of 820 meters of 42 container-loaded wagons, two continents, ten countries, two seas, twelve days to cover 11 thousand 483 kilometers . The transportation of the freight carried by the train over the middle corridor using the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line and Marmaray saves time and energy compared to other routes.
The countries in the path of the train on their way from China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
