Türk Telekom’s last year’s EyeSense application, focused on the voice alert system, aims to make the lives of visually impaired people who have to face many difficulties in their daily lives a little easier.
EyeSense, which is of great importance for the integration of visually impaired citizens into the social life, also enables them to actively participate in social media. Reaching a large user base in a short time, the application gained new features before December 3, World Day of Persons with Disabilities .
EyeSense’s renewed interface promises a much simpler and more convenient experience. Design is not the only thing that changes in practice. Visually impaired individuals will be able to find out what color clothes and objects are, thanks to EyeSense’s new feature ‘Color Recognition’ .
The application helps visually impaired people identify objects around them. Users point their smartphone at an object they touch. The EyeSense application, where thousands of objects have been defined, communicates what the object is to the visually impaired through a voice warning system. Türk Telekom’s ‘Color Recognition’ feature integrated into the platform will work with the same logic.
EyeSense’s possibilities are not limited to these. Visually impaired individuals can take photos using the front and rear camera of the phone with the voice warning system . In practice this means carrying a first in Turkey, aims to be actively involved in social media help to the visually impaired.
